An Update About COVID-19

In keeping with the Pennsylvania State Department of Health recently lifting the ban on elective surgeries, Keystone Surgery Center (KSC) will return to performing elective ambulatory surgeries on a limited, selective basis consistent with current COVID-19 guidelines.  Please be sure to continue to observe the COVID-19 practice/facility guidelines listed below in order to optimally preserve the health and safety of our patients, staff and visitors.

As this situation continues to evolve, please contact us with any questions.

STEPS OUR CENTER ARE TAKING TO KEEP YOU SAFE:

PATIENTS:

Patients will need to wear a protective covering over the nose and mouth (ie. facial mask, bandana, scarf or homemade mask)

We are taking extra precautions to pre-screen patients prior to their arrival for surgery.  We are rescheduling any patients who do not meet the recommended health guidelines.

During this time we are making an extra effort to minimize the number of guests permitted to enter our facility.  Patient escorts will be asked to wait in their cars during procedures unless they are needed to answer questions.  If a patient escort needs to enter the center, they must undergo the same health screening patients will be subject to and follow all applicable center safety measures.

Social distancing measures have been implemented in our waiting room by the removal of available seating.

STAFFING:

Our staff is monitored daily by temperature checks and screenings for flu-like symptoms or illness at the start and end of each shift.

Staff members are also required to wear a protective covering over their nose and mouth while at work.

Disinfection and cleaning of the Center are regular and normal procedures throughout our Center but have been ramped up throughout this phase of potential virus exposure.  All high touch surface areas will be disinfected on a regular basis throughout the day utilizing FDA approved disinfecting hospital-grade wipes.

PATIENTS AND VISITORS MUST WEAR A FACE MASK AT ALL TIMES!!!

Patients with Upcoming Appointments/Surgery:

If you have traveled out of state or have been exposed to someone with COVID-19 or suspected to have been exposed to COVID-19 within the last 14 days, or you are experiencing any the the symptoms listed below, we MUST reschedule your appointment for a future date.

·  Fever · Fatigue
·  Cough · Shortness of Breath
·   Recent loss of Smell or Taste ·  Diarrhea, Vomiting, Nausea, or Stomach pain
·   Muscle Aches

Upon arrival, please be wearing your face mask and check-in with receptionist.

How to avoid COVID-19

Please refer to the CDC’s recommendations for preventative steps to keep yourself healthy. This includes but is not limited to:

  • Wear a face mask at all times in public.
  • Stay home if you are sick
  • Avoid close contact with people, especially those who are sick
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth
  • Cover your mouth with a tissue when you cough or sneeze, then throw the tissue in the trash.
  • Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces using a regular household cleaning spray or wipe.
  • The use of a face mask is also crucial for health workers.
  • Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after going to the bathroom; before eating; and after blowing your nose, coughing or sneezing.
  • If soap and water are not readily available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol. Always wash hands with soap and water if hands are visibly dirty.
  • Keep away from others who are sick or appear sick
  • Avoid touching high-touch surfaces in public places
  • Avoid all non-essential travel
